Overall, a great hospital. Very sanitary, friendly staff, nice decor, and also a nice little garden outside. The employees here are helpful and friendly, and they do great work.
I went into the ER last night with a very painful TMJ flare up and awful pressure in my head and ears that had me in a total panic. Got into the exam room right away, everyone I came in contact with was super kind and attentive, the doctor was thorough and explained everything that was happening to me. Discovered that my original doctor who I saw Wednesday failed to acknowledge that my ears were so full of fluid my eardrums were bulging from the air behind them. This is stuff I have been dealing with for over a month but every doctor I had seen until coming here had blew it off and sent me away. So thankful for this hospital! They took such good care of me!
Great staff. They informed me very often about what was wrong and what tests needed to be done next. They were all very nice and I would definitely pick this hospital to go to again.
Used to love this Hospital until lately. I took My husband, 71 yrs.old, to the E.R. in so much pain that when he moved he hollered out, only to be told, by a young disrespectful nurse, that he needed to be quiet! We eventually found out he had 2 broken ribs....smh...
It's hard to do a "good" review of a hospital because no matter what, even if it's an elective or routine thing, you probably don't want to be there. Both my wife and I have had procedures at Herrin Hospital, and in both cases, I think the doctors and the many and varied support staff involved in the experience did an excellent job. While a good doctor can do a procedure correctly and, oh, I don't know, make sure your liver isn't accidentally removed or something, you're going to probably be dealing with the CNAs and Patient Care Techs, Dietary people, Lab Staff, custodial professionals, clerical assistants and most of all, nurses, a lot more than you will be doctors, and that's what makes me give this place a high rating. The nurses and everyone on the non-doctor end of things are great, professional, friendly, and most of all, they make what could be an unpleasant experience into a much more bearable one.
