I do not recommend this location.

I've decided to try the Carbondale location, which was referred to me, and had a much better experience there.

The vet tech was great, and the office ladies were nice. However, I will not be back & would not recommend to friends & family. Very disappointed.

I have used Central on and off for over 30 years. Everyone has been very kind and compassionate. Our last visit ended with having to euthanize our sweet Nala cat. Dr. McNitt and staff couldn't have been any more compassionate and it's truly appreciated.

Took my dog to the herrin location today. He is a rescue that we recently just adopted. We wanted to get a thorough exam done (since he is a rescue and we have no prior knowledge of his health history). We waited for over an hour & the vet that came into our room was not welcoming at all. She ran her hands down his back and gave him his vaccinations & that was the extent of the exam. Never once checked his ears, his heart, or even his teeth. I left with a $116 bill and no peace of mind.

My boyfriend and I got our first puppy and scheduled an appointment for the day we took him home. We have taken getting a dog seriously and I tried to research and ask around about vet offices around this area. I thought this vet would be good because of it's 4+ star rating on Google and a coworker referred me to this company.

Professional. knowledgeable and compassionate. Have seen several different Drs. and am never disappointed. Have had 2 elderly, ill pets put down there and they handle it with love and understanding. My 3 fur-babies will always go there!

Very good vets. Latest and advanced dianostics. Pricey but worth it

I've been really unimpressed, and we've only taken him in twice. Most of the reception staff and the vet tech seemed great, however the actual veterinarian seemed indifferent and possibly a bit judgmental (definitely not the experience you want when you're taking your new puppy in to a new vet).

The second time was a technician-only appointment, which we weren't informed of. After waiting a hour a technician finally came out to collect my puppy. My pup, as young as he is, is very mouthy and had just been frightened by an aggressive dog that had gotten off leash in the waiting room...so as you can imagine, my boyfriend was angry when the vet tech smacked our dog when he nibbled on him. That was not acceptable for him to deem it okay to discipline our dog under the circumstances.

The waiting room is usually full and it seems like the office staff is disorganized and behind. It also does a disservice to the dogs/pets because being in a room full of unknown animals is stressful to any pet. It's also not fun to sit in a room full of anxious, yapping dogs.

Also, right of the bat, expect to wait up to hour or more to get your pet seen (this happened both times for us and from looking at recent reviews, we aren't the only ones). What's the point of scheduling an appointment if you will be stuck waiting? The appointment itself only takes 15-20 minutes, if that, so why should I wait for a hour?
